Well the contest from my previous post Graphic Design Contests is over. I have to say that I was totally surprised by the turnout that the contest had for only being $50.

I think it turned out well, I am happy with the results, and will be posting other contests for various projects in the future. So here is the winning design.

Now since I have the new header, I need to finish ironing out a few bugs with the site (PurePimps.com) and it will be off and running again. I think most of the major bugs since the last beta round have been squashed though. Just hoping the server move doesn’t make anything perk up.

Graphic Design Contests

I’ve held several graphic design contests on various forums and other websites. Usually they all end with decent results. I am currently running on on DP, and I have to say its the best one I think I’ve ever held.

The submissions came fast, but they were good submissions. Some of my contests I’ve ran in the past only received 2-3 submissions but this one has already received around 8-10 and it was just started last night. All I gotta say is, I wish I would have been using DP for my graphic design contests all along. Here is the link to the thread. So far so good, should be a great auction. More Moooney from the Cow

That crazy Cow is at it again with another $500 contest going on over at his pasture. Once again this $500 contest is sponsored by his web hosting company MicFo.

Want help making money online? Then stop on over there and read the posts from him and his guest bloggers. They are very informative and easy to understand, might just help you on your quest to become a “Dot Com Mooogul”

Now what would I do with the $500? Well since I’ve been having computer problems, I would put it all toward my new computer. This would almost cover the entire cost of the computer, so I will be keeping my fingers, toes, and “hooves’ crossed that I am the lucky winner of the $500.

The specs on the computer I am looking at are as follows:

• AMD 64 X2 5200+
• 2gigs Ram
• GeForce 8600GT 256meg GFX card (maybe 2 in sli)
• COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 Case
• GIGABYTE GA-M57SLI-S4 AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
• Standard 520-600 Watt Power Supply

The computer will be solid, haven’t yet decided to keep it on the cheap side for now and just use Ubuntu or go ahead and put windows on it as well since I do love my gaming. At first probably will just be Linux, then maybe add another hard drive in it and duel boot with Windows. To save on price as well I’m just using Hard drives that I already have.

So hopefully I win this contest and will be on the way to getting this computer built.

Mad Cows at it Again

The mad cow over at JohnCow.com is up to it again. This time thanks to his very generous web hosting provider they are offering up a chance to win…wait for it…$500. Contest over at JohnCow.com

JohnCow is hosting a contest on his site. Interesting note about the item being given away in this action is the fact that he won it in an auction from the “Big Beef” as Cow would call him. According to JohnChow, it doesn’t work, but is still a “must have” for the geeks among us..which lets face it is probably most of us.

On another note, I know JohnCow.com is just a parody of JohnChow.com but over that past few days I have actually started liking that site more, I feel as it the “Big Beef” hasn’t been posting the same quality of articles as he once used to. Hopefully soon it will get back into full swing and come out with some more incredible articles for the masses.
